Join us for the Rescheduled Grace Adventures 3rd Anniversary Celebration

Please join Michael and Donna Sprague for an evening of thanksgiving and celebration of God's good works in our community and state.

So few people ever hear anything good happening in Caesar's household. It seems like nothing ... or at least nothing good is happening in government or among leaders. Many are deeply troubled about our country and its future. Indeed, one would have to be blind to not see the Storm Clouds pressing in.

Grace Adventures, my nonprofit, has given me a different vantage point and I would like you to get a glimpse of what I see weekly. The problems in business and government are real but God is always at work.

I would like to invite you to join me on Friday, April 4th at 7pm for a little over an hour. I have asked some Louisiana elected leaders, business leaders, and a former New Orleans Saints player to share how their lives and leadership have been impacted by their faith. I will share a little how there is hope for our country and where Grace Adventures is headed in the future. I am so thankful to be serving in this community and this state and want to share this with you.

Dr. Michael Sprague is the Louisiana State Chaplain with the Capitol Commission and President of Grace Adventures, which reaches out to political, business and spiritual leaders in the New Orleans/Baton Rouge region and beyond(www.graceadventures.info or michael.sprague@capitolcom.org). The ministry is Scripture-based, Jesus-centered and Grace-motivated. Michael is engaged in relational outreach and discipleship, teaching, coaching, writing and speaking. His non-profit helps leaders think through the "Big Questions" of life and thrive as a whole person; spiritually, relationally, physically and emotionally. Michael wants leaders to not only win at politics or career but at life. He often serves as a "non-political" friend to people in the halls of power.

Michael spends lots of time at the Capitol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana working with Legislators, lobbyists, administration and Capitol staff in a non-political, non-partisan pastoral/chaplain role. The focus is not to lobby for legislation(as important as that is) but to help leaders with their faith. Days are filled with Bible studies, prayer, listening, caring appointments and many surprises. Michael loves to help people know the Jesus of the Scriptures.

Michael holds a Business degree from the University of Maryland, a Master of Divinity degree from Capital Bible Seminary (Lanham, Maryland) and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Michael served as Senior Pastor of Trinity Church in Covington, Louisiana for 11 years, and formerly served for 15 years at Forcey Memorial Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. In addition, he helped launch the Touch Global Crisis Response Ministry for the Evangelical Free Churches of America that is now multiplying churches and compassion ministry in the aftermath of many natural disasters around the world. Michael believes God does His best work in the midst of crisis. He has a shepherd’s heart, calls for a volunteer revolution and believes life is too short to play it safe. His desire is to see people become fully devoted to Jesus.

Michael’s entire life is shaped by what Jesus has and continues to do in and through him. He is the perfect profile for the kind of person God says He uses - 1 Corinthians 1:27, “God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” He does life with his wonderful wife and partner Donna. They have one son, Jonathan who is married to Patricia. Donna and Michael reside in Mandeville, LA. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, reading and traveling. His motto is “Bet the Farm on God.”

Michael has written a book entitled, DISASTER: Betting the Farm on God in Life's Storms was released in August 2011. His other book, Stories from Katrinaland, chronicles many of the stories of God’s miraculous provision in the midst of the greatest natural disaster in the history of the United States.
